]]> http://www.get-kinetic.com/get-kinetic-2010-fall-party/feed 0 a good luck charm for the city of brotherly love? http://www.get-kinetic.com/517 http://www.get-kinetic.com/517#comments Mon, 20 Sep 2010 14:52:45 +0000 admin http://www.get-kinetic.com/?p=517 So, with the fourth annual GK shindig on the not-too-distant horizon, scheduled for early October, I’m suddenly aware of an interesting trend beginning to take shape.  Well, in fairness, it’s a trend that has been four plus years in the makings, but a continually developing one nonetheless.  In this, GK’s fourth year in their Fishtown studio digs, we are just about to witness the Phillies clinch their (yep, you guessed it) fourth straight NL East Pennant!  In addition, if you really care to get technical about it, those same four seasons have witnessed 90 wins or more in each case (if you take into account the Phil’s 89 regular season wins from ’07, and add in their one game playoff win against Division rivals the Mets, that is).  Each season has witnessed more wins than the one before, with the same being said for GK’s party turnouts…hmmm, interesting trend don’t ya think!

Our memories of each of our Fishtown parties thus far are amalgamated with those of following the Fightin’s in their NLDS escapades, with less than stellar results in ’07 but far sweeter rewards in subsequent ’08 & ’09 seasons.  Each year, our attentions have been (well, nearly) equally divided between party-planning and rooting on the Phil’s, and on the night of the party we deftly maneuver between the two.  We can credit the Phillies with adding the excitement and electricity to the month of October for nearly the past half-decade, but the question is does GK warrant any credit in return…& could it be that some cosmic bond of fate exists between the two?

Now in fairness, I’m not one for superstition, but this recent trend is certainly something worthy of attention.  And to be honest, I’ve never been one to knock a good thing, so I can guarantee you I’ll be in attendance at this year’s GK fall fiesta…question is, will you?  We certainly hope so, and we like to think the front office folks down on Citizen’s Bank Way secretly do as well!
